The club's main aims

About the club

The club formed in July 1983 when a few parents of multiples got together to offer each other advice, help and support. It didn't take long for other multiple families to see the beneifit in belonging to a supportive and helpful club.

We are connected to the Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA) and all our members become members of this national body as well.

We are a not-for-profit community club ran by volunteers. We hold committee meetings once a month at a variety of resturants around Darwin City, Darwin suburbs and in Palmerston. This is a great opportunity to get out on your own, have a nice meal and a chat with like minded people, as well as support your favourite club!

We now have a page on FACEBOOK! Search for NT Multiple Birth Club and request to join. All Multiple Parents are welcome to join the face book page.

The NTMBC held a great fete for National Multiple Birth Awareness Week, in March 2011

We would like to thank everyone who had a stall. The club committee would especially like to thank the various businesses who donated goods or services to the day:

Bunnings: They provided a staff member (who is also a twin mum) and the materials to run a free art/craft session.

The Darwin Convention Centre: Donated good quality bread and sausages.

Uniting Church, Casuarina: They allowed us to hold the fete on their property.

Coates Hire: Provided the eskies and BBQ.

Funland Amusements: Provided the jumping castle.

Little Rompers: Provided kits for new/expectant parents.

Action Print: Provided the printing for our raffle tickets.

Also, we would like to thank our wonderful dedicated committee members who worked tirelessly to make it such a great day and the members, and their relatives, for donating time and goods to the club stall.

Thank you very much to all our sponsors.

Many businesses in the Northern Territory and beyond have generously donated money and/or  goods to our club and to the Convention we hosted in September 2009.  As a community not-for-profit club, we rely on funding grants, fund raising, and the goodwill of others to operate. We also rely heavily on member involvement, i.e. member's fund raising efforts and our committee who run and organise the club so efficienty.  Thank You!
